Hi, just read your article and I am pleased to say that over the recent months I have taken up barbel fishing on the Don rather than carp fishing. Today I have taken an 11lb 1oz barbel from a stretch near st Marys Bridge and there are definitely bigger barbel in there. I have photo's of the fish and it is truly amazing. The river don gives the best fishing compared to any other pond in Doncaster. I can guarantee even the novice angler can catch these barbel and if you put the time in the rewards are just great. Let me know if you would like the pics. Many thanks M.Bowland
