Default Elastics

Steve Ringer and Giles Cochrane use hollow, Will Raison and Ben Leach use Hydro, Tommy Pickering and Andy Kinder use hollow, and a lot of other good snglers use solid. Do you reckon it makes a difference or is it just the way anglers play fish>

after lots of experimentation ive got nowhere lol!!! i use a mixture of both to suit the style of fishing. ive found no hollows are good for winter fishing so use black preston 8, 8 magic latex and 10 magic. i then use white hydro for spring fishing as its a bit stronger then use grey and black hydro all summer. at the end of the day its what suits you and dont be afraid to experiment. i know jubby uses blue hydro all the time for f1s and he is the best f1 angler i know yet i hate the stuff so its each to there own i suppose.

I think you have to use a bit of both, I like hollow elastic and use Prestons. I used to use Hydro but got fed up paying 15 quid for it. For my silver fishing I use preston solids in 6's and 8's for skimmers, I use a lot of Fox Match 4 for roach fishing. Some swear by latex, others will only use hollow, I agree with Joe each to their own.

I mainly use Preston elastics for the carp fishing I use Preston Blue Hollow in conjunction with a pull bung, the reason I use the pull bung is that on a lot of these lakes there are skimmers / bream and I want those netted if I hook one. Down the edge and at Bolingey I use preston yellow. I still have some Blach Hydro in a couple of tops so you may see that out as well. If I am fishing for silvers it's preston black 8 or preston yellow 6 through three sections. Out and out roach I use Fox Match 4 through 1 section .

use a mixture here aswell

use solids for all my lighter elastics up to a 12. black preston 8 for winter fishing F1 and a 12 magic latex when it warms up a bit. i use hollows for all my proper carp fishing mostly maver 12-20 or preston 17H. most people on the venues i fish seem to fish hollows for everything but i just cant get on with them in light sizes

different elastics for different fishing style
I think the solids good for silverfish, for carp too
My favourite the Vespe Flouro series, awsome
Sometimes I use the Fox Match Hollow.
