Default Greatest Angler Ever

I think it has to be Bob Nudd. Alongside being a fantastic angler, he had time for everybody, and epitomised everything thats good about angling.

I have to agree. he has always struck me as being a top bloke, got time for everybody. I think a lot of top anglers are the same though, you don't get far in this sport by being funny i don't think. In terms of achievement, can anyone match Mr Scotthorne though?

There are many Scotthorne, Nudd, Ashurst, Gardener, Raison etc, but my favourites were Clive Smith, excellent tactical brain and had a brilliant understanding of "The Match", Ken Giles his partner in crime and Ivan Marks, this man had time for anybody and to me he was the greatest. Would have loved to see how he would of competed in this day and age.

It`s unique mate never been to a canal that has so many roach in it!!!!It`s a tatty old canal but there aint been any problem with bikes, runners dog walkers etc, they give you respect down there, something I aint come across before. Should fish at weekend , been on the phone today with Lee Woodhouse and it`s frozen over this morning but temps are rising so we are expecting a fishing match. Lee`s been helping us down there and he`s running for us Sunday, Top Bloke but a bit ugly!!!!!!! Nowt like us Northern Beauties eh!!!!!! Seems a bit odd with the Osset lads not there but all the usual suspects are fishing it. Never mind we`ll see you in the Drennan Final !!!!!!
