This competition sounds like a joke. For those who havent heard, it is a competion being run by Dragon Water Meadows in Linocolnshire. there are 15 qualifying matches the winner of each going through to a final. Anglers who fish pay £10 into the final prize pool on every match.

The bit that doesn't make sense is that the final is 30 pegs,15 being the anglers who have qualified and 15 being invited superstars. So all the regulars who have to fish for there places and put all the money in are then thrown in with invited superstars who have paid nothing in and never had to qualify!

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against superstars, if I was invited I would go, it is the format that is all wrong.

all the money from the 15 qualifyers went to the winner of that qualifying match not the overall 5k and the rest of the money form the £5 entry not £10 went to improveing the lake the 5K came out of the Dragons Account so before you go shoutin your mouth off get your facts right and the match was baced around fishing agenst superstars what was in all the adds so get ur facts right

Mitre3, dont dribble such utter shite . It was £20 to fish a match, £5 peg £5pools and £10 into the overall 5k payout FACT. If any improvements are to be made to a fishery they come out of the owners pegging fees not by charging extra cash to fish the match, could you imagine turning up to a match and been asked to pay double entry fee cos the lake needs a couple of new pegs putting in,JOKER. Dragon used this event to extract as much cash as possible from this whole excercise it was about nothing other than a good business enterprise to get punters to the final to buy there tacky tackle. Take off your rose tinted specs. If this was about a great competition for the angler that lake would have been stocked to its capacity. I will still go and fish it next time round and hope i draw one of the 8 pegs strong enough to win a match from the 60 in the bag.
