Default Suffolk Water Park Last week

Sunday 6th July

Finally, after the fluctuating temperatures and the spawning, the fish have started to feed in earnest. Today's match was very enjoyable for most people and the weights have been very good, especially on M2. I believe that the 5 hour match weight record for Match Lake 1 has been broken by Aaron Coleman today as well. If anyone knows any different then please let me know. I had a great day and thought I was bound to be in the top 6 but it was only good enough for 2nd on M1 and 8th overall. Still, having had my weight doubled off the next peg it was clear that I should have done better []

Water Temp - like a bath! Air Temp Max 22C - Barometer 1010 Falling - Wind varied from South at the start through to westerly then back to South again and around 9mph, a little ripple most of the day ripple - Medium cloud cover with sunny intervals.

The results could have been even better as one angler unfortunately had 64lb in one net and had to be disqualified. He would have weighed in over 107lb and if he had kept his nets below the 50lb limit and the 60lb disqualification level. I have requested that the new baliff, Stu, considers changing the rules on net limits as having your weight knocked back to 50lb should be sufficient penalty in my opinion. However the rules are there in the shop for everyone to see and it is the responsibility of those fishing to know the rules. If they change they I will post them on here.

The results:-

1st Aaron Coleman, Suffolk Water Park/Bait-Tech, fishing a method feeder and switching between a hard pellet and luncheon meat on the hook from peg 27 Aaron weighed 128lb 4oz
2nd Daniel Elliott, Harleston and Wortwell, Fishing up in the water with a pellet on peg 66 weighed in 79lb 5oz
3rd Bob Gill, Barford Tackle, fishing up in the water with 6mm pellet and feeding 4mm on peg 45 weighed 75lb 15oz
4th Jack Gill, Barford Tackle fished like his father and and was only ounces away from beating him off peg 53 to weigh 75lb 3oz
5th Peter Binks, Walton on Naze, caught his fish in a number of different ways from peg 57 and totelled 72lb 3oz
6th Richard Fuller, Viscount Tackle, also had his fish up in the water from peg 55 with 64lb 3oz to finish just out of the frame.

Best Silver Fish weight was Peter Banks on peg 29 with an all skimmer weight of 13lb 9oz

Wednesday Match

9 anglers fished and as we all know it was hot and sweaty and the water temp was like a bath!! I don't have many more details about the conditions but I do know that Darren Clarke lost about 15 fish some of which were definitely foul hookers but still won the match comfortably.

1st Darren Clarke, Suffolk Water Park, fishing the pellet waggler on peg 15 with 8mm pellets and weighed in exactly 75lb
2nd Rodney Finch, Deben, on peg 9 who weighed in 49lb 12oz
3rd John Platton, Suffolk County, on peg 28 who fished the method feeder and weighed 41lb 0oz
4th Calvin Smith on peg 17 with 36lb 4oz
5th Tony Anderson, Diawa Angling Direct, on peg 26 with 32lb 8oz of skimmers
6th Dick Bagley, Castaway Felixstowe, on peg 30 with 24lb 12oz

There is a match on Wednesday all being well but there no matches next weekend. The next open match at a weekend is a week on Saturday.
Ring 07881 953310 to book in.
