Default King Of The Draw Bag!

While I must admit I have my good times with the draw bag, I would also say have I have my bad runs. Can't complain at the moment like pulling some good uns out, at Ranskill at the weekend I asked Dave Tomkinson what peg he would like, he told me 33, then I went in before him and pulled it out!

Who is the best/ worst drawer you know? Out of the people I know I reckon Kevin Parkes is probably one of the best. The captain of the team he fishes for Tony Caley has told me a few tails about him pulling out fliers, apparently he once gave him a bag with ten numbers in and asked him to draw them out in order and he did so!

Do we have any other contenders for the title of king of the drawbag?

You've only been twice and I've seen you on pegs 4 and 28! At least I catch a few when I draw a flier!

Ok admittedly I F**ked up big style on 28 but Peg 4 has never ever even been a flier in the history of Ranskill, I'd say it has never even framed in the history of Ranskill it's that bad!!

Only fliers I have ever drawn at Ranskill though was on Spring League on Peg 8 and 18 and duly went onto win the match of both, doesn't make sense your smart reply now

Now guys no fighting!

They used to say that if you put one red maggot in a gallon of whites and blindfolded Steve Gardner, he could draw the red maggot! He is that good.

Peg four has won plenty of matches! it is a peg with loads of options you can fish pole or feeder, chuck up to that bush and you will catch skimmers AND carp.

Peg 28 is probably the best and most consistent peg on the venue, I have drawn it twice and won the match twice. I would't call peg 18 a flier, I think it is really hit and miss, if they are there you will bag up if they are not you won't, like most corner pegs, simple as that really. Peg 8 is a flier in the warmer months but that can be s#>T when it turns cold.

I also think 37 is a really good peg that I have messed up on a couple of occasions. If I draw that again I will just fish tip all day I think.

Are you coming on the festival Marc, then we can see who is the better drawer?

Peg 4 has only won the match if a complete turnout of David Blunkett chlones fished! and it would still struggle

18 is personally my third favourite Peg on the lake just behind 8 and 29A but that's because I've always enjoyed my fishing on it.

Festival umm... I'm not sure as i think we are at White Acres on those days but I will get back to you on that!

As for White Acres I'm going next Saturday so I shall be thinking of you Tom while I'm sacking and your at Ranskill

I honestly believe we all get the same number of good pegs as bad pegs over a very long time period of time. The better anglers tend to make less mistakes on the better pegs and so it seems that they draw better pegs than others. In truth, the better anglers dont make as many mistakes as other anglers and often catch a good weight from average draws although a little less than the potential of the best pegs. These top anglers then also need help from the not such good anglers to win by the not so good anglers messing up there good draws. Its amazing how often this happens! The strange thing with me is that i like to draw the last peg in the draw bag. This means that i have no choice about where i fish. I let the other anglers who draw before me dictate where i am drawn in the match. Its amazing how often a good peg is not drawn if there is one or two extra pegs put in the draw bag. One thing i hate is when there is more than one peg left in the draw bag. I always struggle to draw the better peg in this situation. It very strange to me how this happens all the time. I cannot complain as i get more than my fair share of good draws or it seems that way. However, i see a many venues as having more good pegs than many anglers believe are available on many venues.
