Im sorry you feel that way about canals Machin jnr, it would have been good to have you on the festival.

If its any consolation, the Chesterfield Canal is very tame as canals go, it is relatively shallow with plenty of fish in it so it will be a catching match rather than a scratching one!

I am aware that the canal will put a few people off, but I hope it will also attract a few who appreciate a more diverse choice of venue so as to allow lots of different types of angling over the three days.

I dont think we will see Mr Machin jr at W/As in a festival, either. Porth is a silver fish venue that takes some getting use to and is used in all festivals at W/As.

Well done, Tom on getting something like this up and hopefully running.

Thumbs up

Like i said im my earlier post i did not want to offend anyone by saying what i said and if i did i am sorry!! i suppose its just not my style of fishing. i would love to go to white acres but unfortunatly i dont think that opportunity would arise and if it did it probably have to be a family holiday (i am working on it..) and yes if i did enter that style of competition i would have to fish the venues that may not suit me... althouh maybe when i feel as though im more experianced as ive only been fishing 3 years then i may move to canals and rivers and have a bit of varity in my fishing but to be honest i just like the commercial scene.. well done Tom for organising it all i may be intouch and pop down to the venues to see the crack and maybe tempt me for next time you organise one again...... thats if you do....

dont forget when you book a match on worksop water you still have to buy a day ticket. you spend all that money and its annoying when the bailif comes round with his book

Hi Tom,

I've just joined this forum, like to have a crack at this 'mini festival' .
If there are any places left i'll try and drop the money of at Woodseats Angling in next day or so.

Think i may have bumped into you at Ranskill on the summer league, ive fished last 2 matches but unfortunately missed the first one.

Si

p.s.
The diaries are spot on and informative.
