Default Worst Days Fishing

Come on, spill the beans, what was your worsed days fishing and why?

Mine has to be in the Preston Festival last year. Drew a good peg on Pollawyn, started off well with three early carp for around 20lb in the first 20 minutes, then things went down hill fast! just didn't seem able to get bites- until the last 45 minutes when a line I had put in at six metres became solid! I had three carp off it before breaking my number six section, a replacement was swiftly substituted only for my number five to break on the very next put in! By this time my duck had well and truly been knocked off, and I packed up! finished last in section with 47lb. GUTTED!

I remember about 10 years ago on the last day of a White Acres Festival I was near to the top of the leader board and needed a section win to finish third. I drew peg 51 at Gwinear, the peg was solid, carp everywhere. The problem was I couldn't hook them in the mouth - everytime I dropped my rig in the water the pole was nearly wrenched out of my hand with a foul hooked fish. I lost more fish that day than I have in total since! It was my worst nightmare, I remember weighing in about 50lb and finishing third in section. That evening at the presentation I won a keepnet instead of 600 quid!! I will never forget that day, I have never had that many fish in front of me since!

2yrs ago went on hol to whiteacre's for first time, entered the rover & got about 50th choice, the peg's id seen on polly & sycamore had gone so went to acorn 6, now i only went there because i new it had won the rover the wk before with 160lb caught in the margin's.
I ended up with 2 empty peg's either side & then steve clarke on peg 9.
At the start i fed my right hand margin swim then went to cup some bait in at 6m, when i picked my rig up to fish at 6m to bait it up i noticed a few carp in my margin straight away, so i put that rig down & baited my margin rig, 5 drops in & 5 carp! I then thought iwas going to empty it big style!!!
What really happened was i had that many fish in front me & i just couldnt catch them, through lack of experience in fishing for carp & pure frustration i just kept piling bait in & more & more carp turned up in the swim, iv never seen has many fish. I packed in with 30min's left, steve clarke had about 150lb caught on his top 2 & a guy further along had about 170lb doing the same.
I tipped back about 30lb!!!
Straight back to the lodge to start on the stella, a big lesson learn that day.

My worse days fishing was when I crashed my car on the way to the venue, ended up in hospital having pins put in my leg!

That takes some beating! Has anyone seen that Bizarre ER on BBC Three? That lad with the fishing weight stuck in his eye socket! Ouch!

First time down at White Acres a couple of years back, entered the silver and the rovers.
Drew peg 12 on Twin Oaks in the silver with peg 13 empty, just fished right in the grass to my right and lost more fish the the winner weighed in!
Then on the rovers got a good draw number and my mate told me to pick 17 Twin Oaks, i didn't know the pegs at the time. Tried to fish in the grass again, swapping between each side but couldn't get the fish to settle as i had 2 idiots either side tramping up n down the bank all the match!
Also remember getting a bad draw at Gwinear that year too, god only knows why i went back the year after although i did much better last year, luckily!

my worst was about 3 months ago as on a previous session my brolly broke so as i had a match and the forcast was good i thought i would get away with it, six hours later i was soaked, cold and only had 25lb in my keepnet the guy on my left had 165lb and on my right 70lb as if that wasnt enough whille i got my gear out to clean it when i got home i realised that due to some grit in the joint i had split one of my top 2s (i learnt some very valuable lessons that day).

Works match last year -friend came with a broken leg and crutches and loaded my Penrose barrow with his chairs etc making it top heavy. The draw was late it was pissing down as we walked to my peg; the other side of the lake I got into a speed wobble due the amount of toot he loaded on the trolley. Trolley tipped - Milo departs down bank, drawers open contents fly everywhere. I slide down bank get a boot full takes five Minutes to get the bloody box up the wet slope -it weighs a ton. Get to my peg sweating and wet. My friend? Is in stitches. Start fishing on these long thin slippery wooden pegs that went out in the lake, kept nearly slipping in or treading on top kits. Still raining very windy then the pole of my brolly bends in half, hits me on the head and crashes into my top kits knocking them into the lake. I continue to fish in my waterproofs --HA HA. The match finishes I am soaking wet I go to take my two-day-old phone out of the jacket pocket. I then discover its full of water and my phone is buggered. I then have to lump all his and my stuff back to the car, throw it all in, start the car turn the wipers on they decide to cross and both wiper blades fly off -my friend thought this was his best day fishing ever. When I got home with one blade working I had a throbbing toothache puts some toothache tincture on my gum and found it was some oil that was not supposed to be taken internally
