Default Litter!!!

I am quite honestly disgusted at the state of the fishery i visited yesterday (mentioning no names) the balif was going on about how clean the fishery was and as if on cue, a sweetcorn can and a carrier bag drifted past, i mean whats going on in the world where people believe a fishery is clean when its a virtual dumping ground. I dont personly remember (wasnt alive yet.) but having read books about fishing 20yrs ago it seems like our lakes, rivers and canals were much much much cleaner!!!

I'm afraid litter has always been a problem. What gets me is people who hide it in the undergrowth in summer thinking no one can see it, then come winter there it is for all! Much easier lighter and smaller to take it home with you after a session or put it in the bin.
I walked around a fishery the other day and was surprised to see empty crisp packets neatly folded up and pushed into the gaps of the wooden peg! It must have taken this litter bug some time to do this. I will never understand why people do this.

This really annoys me, I actually stoppped taking one of my mates fishing because he would just dump stuff, empty pop cans, sweetcorn, meat, etc.

I simply keep a couple of plastic bags in my carryall and put all my rubbish in these during my match / pleasure session and then at the end of the day tie the handles & dump in the bin when i unload the car. The bags don't weigh anything & it stops you forgetting about that half-used bag of paste you left in the bottom of your carryall if you just stick it in the bag at the end of the day.

It's down to the anglers to tidy up any litter before they leave thier peg and down to the owners to get rid of any rubbish that is blown onto the lakes.

It also gets me how people fold them up so small it could easily go in a little bag and go home, plus the time taken could be used baggin up or whatever the angler enjoys doing.

really really frustrating!!!

k.y.f.c keep your fishery clean.

Last day of the season on my local river I spent 5 mins clearing up the debris from someone else's day, started fishing and then the previous occupant came along and told me how poor it was from that swim the day before. I advised him that I'd cleaned up and he asked what I'd caught - showed him the bag of rubbish and repeated that I'd cleaned up! Oh, and had about 8 lb of roach (it was still mid morning)! He left, rather chastened, so I hope it won't happen again, fingers crossed.

It just keeps happening i cant stress enought how much we need to educate those litter bugs on picking it up and putting in the bin, im sure you all agree its not rocket science.
