Do People honestly think this makes a difference? or is a backshot just as good?

not keen on leadcore myself, there are too many safety issues surrounding its use, tubing and a backlead works for me

when i was watching the maver dvd that you get with your pole,it shows andy kinder using leadcore on his rig when he was fishing paste, says that it helps it stay staight from your connector to the float, never heard of this before until i watched the dvd so it was werth watching just for that, could anyone tell me what diameter lines do you go down to in the winter for carp up to around 6lb,ive been fishing 0.12 maver genesis sraight through had a few fish smash me but sometimes i think using a lower diameter line helps get more bites, but im not totally sure,do you think it does or not
