Yes you can (most of the time) try fishing the match lakes after a match, pick one of the vacated pegs then fish down the side, you will not be disappointed especially when the water warms up.

i fished the first lake on wed 3rd and caught 16 carp, biggest was 8lb, i went back on friday 5th and caught 19 carp and 2 tench, my biggest carp was 9lb and 1 of the tench was a golden tench, my first ever, i find fishing pellet in the morning till about 3oclock works a treat, then i use floating dog biscuit after that, also works very well depending on the time of year, looking forward to going back.

You need a valid Environment Agency Rod Licence if you are aged 12 or over and fish for salmon, trout, freshwater fish, smelt or eel in England (except the River Tweed), Wales, and the Border Esk and its tributaries in Scotland.

Please note: If you are fishing with three or four rods (four is the maximum allowed) then you will need to
purchase a second licence….You can get one just for the day from the post office.check out E/A site @

Boilies are the best for car pand other big fish. Using boilies the little fish cant eat it and only 20lb carp and more will eat them.

fished woodlands with the missus first time yesterday,had a great day wife pulled 13 fish in on her first outing ,bait and tackle shop a real bonus.will be returning soon great venue.
