Pulborough Angling Society has twelve lakes, six of which are located at their Goose Green complex nr Ashington, West Sussex. There are also three lakes at Moor Farm, Petworth and two small ponds, one in Storrington and one in Pulborough. The society also controls 3 miles of the River Adur, 3 miles of the River Arun and approx 1 mile of the River Rother.
Day tickets are only available for the River Adur. Memberships can be applied for through their website, or from Arun Angling Centre, Bramber News Agency, Prime Angling, Tidal Angling. There are no additional fees for night fishing, once membership has been paid you can fish day and night, 365 days a year.
Goose Green – Ashington
The lakes at Goose Green vary in depth and size and offer excellent pleasure and match fishing in a woodland environment.
Heron Lake
This lake is stocked with all sizes of Carp from ounces to doubles, Tench, Bream, Rudd, Roach, Perch, Crucians, Skimmers and Gudgeon. This is a popular lake with pleasure catches often in excess of 50lb in the Summer months.
Canada Lake
This lake contains a large head of Carp, Hybrids, Tench, Bream, Skimmers and thousands of nice Rudd and Roach. Pleasure catches often exceed 60lb in the warmer months.
Kingfisher Lake
This lake holds Crucians, Hybrids, Bream, Tench, Skimmers, Gudgeon, Rudd and Roach as well as a small head of Carp to 6lb. In the warmer months pleasure catches of over 50lb are commonplace.
New Pond
This lake is small and has only four pegs, however it is well stocked with quality fish including, Crucians, Tench, Perch, Carp, Roach, Rudd and Skimmers.
Deep Lake
This lake has recently been enlarged and currently holds only small fish which include Rudd, Roach, Perch, Gudgeon, Tench, Chub, Crucians, Skimmers and small Carp. The biggest fish here is probably no bigger than 8oz at best.
Tench Pond
This lake as suggested by the name holds Tench, as well as a good head of silverfish and a few Carp.
The car park is adjacent to 5 of the 6 lakes and offers easy access especially for the less able bodied anglers. There are no steps around the fishery as they have all been replaced with ramps.
Moor Farm – Petworth
Top Lake
The Top Lake (Approx 3 acres) is stocked with Crucian Carp and Tench. The water is very deep on this lake, therefore all junior anglers must be accompanied by an adult.
Middle Lake
The Middle Lake holds Mirror, Common and Leather Carp to 25lb+, as well as Rudd, Roach, Tench and Crucians. This lake is ideal for the specimen Carp angler who wishes to get away from the more crowded day ticket waters.
Bottom Lake
The Bottom Lake (approx 3 acres) contains Carp, Bream, Tench, Perch, Rudd, Roach, Golden Rudd and Specimen Eels.
This complex is ideal for disabled anglers due to the flat grassy banks.
The Mill Pond – Storrington
This is a small and picturesque pond which is stocked with a large head of Roach, Rudd, a few Carp and small Trout. This fishery is connected to the River Storr, which means that it is NOT open during the close season. This pond is ideal for Junior/Disabled anglers.
Duncans Pond – Pulborough
This pond is small and quite shallow which makes it perfect for Junior members. Stocks include large Roach, Rudd, Perch, Gudgeon and a few Tench.
River Adur
The society`s boundries on the River Adur extend from Stretham Bridge near Small Dole downstream toBramber in West Sussex. This fishery contains a large head of Bream, Roach, Dace, Skimmers, Mullet, Perch and Pike, It also experiences a large run of sea Trout as well as Carp to double figures. Day tickets can be obtained from the Secretary or from Bramber News Agency.
Tide Times
White Bridge = 1 1/2 hours after high tide at Shoreham.
Stretham = 2 hours after high tide at Shoreham.
River Arun
The Pulborough Angling Society controls 3 miles of the Tidal River Arun at Hardam, Washingham, Parham and Greatham Bridge. This fishery contains Dace, Chub, Roach, Perch, Mullet, Bream, Specimen Pike, small Barbel and a few large Carp. This river also experiences a good run of sea Trout.
Hardam/Stopham = 4 hours after high tide at Littlehampton.
Washingham = Roughly 3 hours after high tide at Littlehampton.
Greatham = 3 hours after high tide at Littlehampton.
River Rother
Approx 1 mile of the River Rother at Hardam provides non-tidal river fishing. This river has few small fish but has very large Chub, Carp, Pike, Bream and Sea Trout.
