Milemead Fisheries has three lakes to offer (Specimen Carp, Carp and Match) at around two acres each, there is also a small stretch of canal which offers great fishing for the novice or expert angler. These lakes are situated in a queit and beautiful valley just a mile away from Tavistock.
Opening times for the lakes are 7am till dusk (night fishing is only allowed on specimen carp lake and must be booked in advance).
Milemead has a tackle shop onsite where you can hire tackle if needed, buy snacks and drinks or use the toilet facilities. The tackle shop has a wide variety of tackle and baits available, they also have a weekly maggot delivery and squatt, pinkies or caster can be ordered. The shop opens at 9am and tickets should be purchaced here before fishing. (early anglers are welcome to start and get tickets when shop does open).
Specimen Carp Lake (over 16`s only) has a quality stock of Mirror, Common and Ghost Carp ranging from 5lb to 27lb+. No poles are allowed on this lake, un-hooking mats and large 36inch min landing nets must be used. minimum recommended line strength is 10lb. No carp sacks or keepnets are to be used. All places have to be booked in advance with day tickets at £10.00 per person (7am-dusk), 24hr tickets also available at £20.00 per person.
Carp Lake has a stock of eleven species of fish which includes Ghost, Common and Mirror Carp to 15lb+ as well as Bream, Tench and Roach.
Match Lake is well stocked with Bream & Tench to 4lb+, small carp, Rudd, Roach and Crucians. Open matches are held on alternate Sundays throughout the year and evening matches are Thursdays from May to August. There are 30 pegs available on the lake which can be booked for club or group matches.
The Canal has small carp, Tench Bream Rudd and Roach and is ideal for beginners or informal matches.
