Kingfisher Lake

dsc00015.JPGKingfisher Lake is located on the edge of Thetford just off the A11 northbound carriageway between the B1107 Brandon Road junction and the A134 Kingslynn junction a hundred yards past the riverbridge on the left.

Since the lake has been taken over by the new owner (who is a keen angler) some improvements have been made such as the installation of chipped and log edge swims, which have improved access for the disabled and parking around the lake are suitable for wheelchair users. There are also plans for platform swims to be put in place in the future, as well as the planting of trees, reeds and lilies.

Stocks in the lake include approx two hundred and fifty carp, with the average fish being between 8 and 16lb. Some of the mirrors and commons are in the mid 20`s region. There are also Leathers, Linears and fully scaled carp here. Other fish species include Tench to double figures, Bream to around 9 1/2lb , Pike between 8 and 22lb, Roach and Rudd. Depths range between 2ft to 16ft, with silt, gravel, sand and lilies as features. The lake is around 4 acres in size.

Day tickets may be bought bankside via one of the bailiffs or can be purchaced in advance from Thetford angling centre / car care centre. Tickets bought in advance are only valid for the dates stated.

The lake is also available for matches or social events, however these must be booked well in advance. No night fishing for non members unless given permission in advance. Under 16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

    fished this lake for 3 days while in norfolk ,had some fantastic fish upto 23lb
    well run and looked after, well worth a visit
