Barford Lakes
Barford Lakes is a privately owned coarse fishery which is around seven miles west of norwich. There are four lakes at the main site which are two day ticket pleasure lakes, a thirty peg match lake and a training lake. There are also four other match waters nearby.
Facilities at the main site include Tackle/Rod hire, hot + cold snacks, Mens/Womens/Disabled toilets and a fully stocked tackle shop which has a range of accessories, equipment and baits. You may also preorder baits via e-mail or telephone. EA rod licences are also available here. Easy access pegs for disabled anglers can be booked in advance.
Pleasure Lake (main site) is a 2 1/2 acre water, which is stocked with Ghost, Common and mirror carp to mid/high teens, there are also Tench to 6lb, Golden Tench + Orfe to 3lb+, Bream to 10lb, Chub to 3lb and Crucian to 1 1/2lb. Rudd and Roach are under 3lb. Pegs 2-7 are wheelchair friendly.
Top Lake (main site) is available on day ticket from apr-sept and match bookings oct-mar, it is stocked with carp around the 5lb mark with some to 12lb as well as Rudd, Roach, Chub, Crucians, small Tench, brown Goldfish and Skimmers. Pegs 1-9 are wheelchair friendly.
Match Lake (main site) is only used for competitive matches and is stocked with carp around 5 to 7 lb (some to 12lb) as well as Roach, Rudd, Chub, Crucians, Tench to 3lb and Skimmers. Pegs 9, 10, 25 and 26 are wheelchair friendly.
Training Lake (main site) is a small 6 peg lake and is mainly used for demonstrations of techniques to novice anglers. however, this lake can also be fished on a day ticket and learner anglers can purchase tickets for just £2.50. This lake has been stocked with small carp, Roach, Rudd and brown Goldfish (nothing above 3lb).
Colton Lake (5 mins drive from main site) is a match only water of roughly two acres and holds carp from 6 to 8lb (some to 15lb).
Railway Lake (match lake) is at the railway lakes venue in thuxton and holds Carp, Tench, Bream, Roach, Rudd, Chub and Skimmers.
Willow Lake (match lake) is also at the railway lakes venue in thuxton and has a main stock of Carp from 2 to 10lb.
Abbey Waters (25 mins drive from main site) is a match lake which stocks Rudd, Roach, Tench to 5lb and Carp around 6lb (some to 12lb).
