We are living in Central Portugal, and my partner used to fish the Frimley lakes for Carp. Now we go camping and fishing the lakes and rivers of Central Portugal. Not many people know of this stunningly beautiful area and potential of river fishing for carp, barbel, bream and bass. Not to mention flyfishing!

Congratulations Matt, (just found your blog today) as Englishman living abroad (Helsinki, Finland) you have no idea just how proud I am to be English and especially at the moment when all the english teams and individuals are doing so well at international level.

Great Blog and thanks for writing and keeping us all in touch with tactics and methods it helps give me an edge fishing in competitions here in around Finland.

Matt, your blog brought back so many happy and sad memories for me. Congratulations! Your achievements to date are totally awesome.

It is hard for anyone to fully understand the amount of hard work and expense that goes into fishing for England until you’ve actually experienced it. However, the hard work is all part of the experience.
