Bottle of Scotch remains in London

With the Dynamite Baits festival fast approaching I have been spending much of my spare time sorting out kit, rigs and the numerous other things that go with getting ready for a festival.

As well at that I seem to have been spending an awful lot of time sorting out the team and making sure everything is running smoothly. That said a couple of things have not gone according to plan recently, one of which recently resulted in sending one of our team on their merry way. Although I enjoy team fishing some of it is a real pain and sometimes I really do wonder if anglers actually think about the team as a whole or just themselves. The angler in question was all lined up to do an article with a fishing publication on a Monday so as is usual the sponsors sent a lot of tackle including pole, nets and in total the kit came to well over two thousand pounds. The Friday before the article he decided the kit wasn’t good enough for him and a rather irritated me rang him up, gave an ultimatum to use or lose. He chose not to use any of the kit so I decided we wouldn’t be using him any more.

That’s a very short version of what happened but if anyone wants the longer version I will gladly tell them so that the south east rumour mill actually has the facts. I am not naming names because I don’t think that’s right but it has left a particularly bad taste in my mouth but by the same token it has definitely taught me a lesson.

Anyway we move onwards and upwards and at the team meeting last week we sorted out a few things and took some photos for the press release that Trabucco are going to do in the next few weeks.

As a team we are still looking for a couple of anglers to bolster the squad for the forthcoming year so I am keeping my eyes open. To be honest I am looking to lower the average age of the team and one new addition Andy Walker has shown plenty of commitment which is just what is required.

The TCF Trade Show is at the end of the month so we’ll have one of our team there on each of the three days so if you’re about the show come up and say hello. I am going to try and get there on the Saturday on my way back from Whiteacres.

Unfortunately for Stewart he had a few bad draws on the V.D.E. Festival last week that meant he won’t be getting a bottle of scotch from yours truly. Well done to Will Raison on his victory and what was the rant by Welsh Leadster about ??

As regards my fishing I’ve been out a few times just having a play with a few new rigs and baits which I’ll be chatting about over the coming weeks.

Well that’s about it for now. Its snowing outside so I’m off to do some rig making and if I get time I’ll make a snowman. Is it really April !!!!!!!!
