Chestnut Pool Fisheries has a 3 acre lake which offers first class sport for all anglers from beginners to experts. The lake is regularly featured in the Angling Press and listed in The Angling Times top 50 day ticket venues in the U.K. It also attracts some big names in the sport.

Chestnut`s stock comprises of Carp, Bream, Tench, Rudd, Roach, Perch and Crucians. This offers something for everyone, from Match fishing, Pleasure fishing to Carp fishing.

Anglers using the pole to fish need to be prepared for some epic battles with the fish on the pole line being some of the hardest fighting fish you will ever hook.

All baits are worth a try, but depending on the method used, groundbait feeder, boilies, corn, meat, cat meat and pellets all work particularly work well. Casters and worms also work well particularly for the Bream, Tench and silverfish.

For the Carp anglers, feeder tactics or standard ledgering work best with catches of over thirty fish a day commonplace. The stock of Carp consists mainly of Commons and Mirrors between 5 and 10lbs, there are also hundreds of double`s with a good head of 20`s.

There is a tackle shop at the side of the lake which is stocked with a large range of baits and tackle. You can also have a fishing rod hand built to your own specifications. For any information regarding tackle or baits please call 01462 701865.

The fishery is open 7 days a week, from March to November from 7am until dusk or 21.00 hours which ever is earliest and during December to March 7.30am until dusk. Every Tuesday until the 31st of July the lake closes at 4.30pm to hold the Fox Summer League Matches. Toilets are available onsite.

Rules: Please follow these rules for the safety of the fish and environment.

No fixed feeders, barbless hooks only (size 8 max), no leads over 2oz, no braided main lines, only branded Carp/Coarse pellets. All nets and unhooking mats are supplied leaving your rod licence as a deposit. No litter, or dogs and only one non angling guest per angler.

Disabled anglers are most welcome and will receive the utmost attention and assistance if they require.

Pulborough Angling Society has twelve lakes, six of which are located at their Goose Green complex nr Ashington, West Sussex. There are also three lakes at Moor Farm, Petworth and two small ponds, one in Storrington and one in Pulborough. The society also controls 3 miles of the River Adur, 3 miles of the River Arun and approx 1 mile of the River Rother.

Day tickets are only available for the River Adur. Memberships can be applied for through their website, or from Arun Angling Centre, Bramber News Agency, Prime Angling, Tidal Angling. There are no additional fees for night fishing, once membership has been paid you can fish day and night, 365 days a year.

Goose Green – Ashington

The lakes at Goose Green vary in depth and size and offer excellent pleasure and match fishing in a woodland environment.

Heron Lake

This lake is stocked with all sizes of Carp from ounces to doubles, Tench, Bream, Rudd, Roach, Perch, Crucians, Skimmers and Gudgeon. This is a popular lake with pleasure catches often in excess of 50lb in the Summer months.

Canada Lake

This lake contains a large head of Carp, Hybrids, Tench, Bream, Skimmers and thousands of nice Rudd and Roach. Pleasure catches often exceed 60lb in the warmer months.

Kingfisher Lake

This lake holds Crucians, Hybrids, Bream, Tench, Skimmers, Gudgeon, Rudd and Roach as well as a small head of Carp to 6lb. In the warmer months pleasure catches of over 50lb are commonplace.

New Pond

This lake is small and has only four pegs, however it is well stocked with quality fish including, Crucians, Tench, Perch, Carp, Roach, Rudd and Skimmers.

Deep Lake

This lake has recently been enlarged and currently holds only small fish which include Rudd, Roach, Perch, Gudgeon, Tench, Chub, Crucians, Skimmers and small Carp. The biggest fish here is probably no bigger than 8oz at best.

Tench Pond

This lake as suggested by the name holds Tench, as well as a good head of silverfish and a few Carp.

The car park is adjacent to 5 of the 6 lakes and offers easy access especially for the less able bodied anglers. There are no steps around the fishery as they have all been replaced with ramps.

Celtic Lakes fishing complex is situated in the heart of rural Wales and has six lakes stocked with a variety of species so there is something for everyone.

Lake 1:

This is one of the smallest lakes and has only two swims, which is ideal for those who prefer a tranquil/relaxed days fishing. This lake holds Koi Carp and Rudd, however over the years this will change as fry find their way to the pool via the overflow from the other lakes. This lake will eventually reach a stage where you will not know what you will catch next.

Lake 2: (1/4 acre)

This is the smallest lake at the resort and has just one swim. Perfect for those that want to get away from it all and have a venue all to themselves. This lake has depths to 8ft and is well stocked with Mirrors to 8lb, Perch, Bream, Tench, Rudd and a few Koi Carp. This lake is fished on a first come first served basis.

Lake 3: (1 1/4 acres)

This is a smaller lake in the resort with ten pegs and depths to around 6ft at the deepest point. One of the banks is cut straight down while the others are cut at 45 deg. This lake has been planted with Irises and Reeds and also has beds of Lilies in the shallow areas. Stocks include Common Carp between 5 and 8lb, Bream to 2lb, Tench, Koi, Roach and Rudd. This lake is a favorite with familys and people with children.

Lake 4: (Churchill)

Churchill (6 acres) is a rectangular shaped water with a peninsula and a small island which provide features to fish to. This lake has average depths of 6ft, reaching 9ft at the deepest points at the far end of the lake. In some places the banks have been cut vertically whilst in others they have a slope at an angle of 45 deg. Lake 5 is stocked with around 250 Mirror Carp between 4 and 10lb as well as large numbers of Rudd, Roach, Bream, Tench, Koi and Perch. Further stocking in 2007 will add large numbers of Golden Tench and Crucian Carp as well as 300 Common Carp. The biggest of these will be in the 15 to 20lb bracket with the majority of fish being around 8 to 10lb. Each pag on Churchill has a feature to fish to and the margins have been planted with Irises and Reeds to provide cover during the warmer months. Heavy stocking of Churchill will help to ensure the resort gains a reputation as one of the U.K`s most prolific “Big Fish” fishing venues.

Lake 6: (Elysium)

This lake is the largest water at Celtic Lakes Resort at over 17 acres in size. This is the venues specimen lake which was stocked with over 700 Carp between 4 and 20lb. The specimen lake has already produced Carp to 32lb so it wont be long before the magic 40lb mark is reached. This lake is also stocked with 250+ Catfish to 60lb+ with the average size already around the 20 to 30lb mark. Further stockes include 70 Common Carp between 15 and 20lb. Elysium has 40 well spaced pegs and each has either gravel or bark topped large wooden platforms. As well as the Catfish and Carp stocks Elysium also holds heavy stocks of Perch to 1lb, Roach, Rudd, Bream and Tench to 2lb, Pike to 15lb and large numbers of Koi and Ghost Carp at around 8oz, all of which are growing rapidly. The lake has two islands which are planted with shrubs and plants and slope down to an uneven bottom and a maximum depth of 16ft. The average depth is between 6 and 8ft. This lake will appeal to specimen hunters who love the big Carp and Cats as well as the more general coarse angler who likes fishing a well stocked lake.

Facilities at Celtic Lakes Resort includes parking, toilets and holiday accomodation (16th century thatched farmhouse and luxury 5 star lakeside lodges).
