Success at Sessay!
Success at Sessay!

Ay up folks! a bit of an up and down weekend this week im afraid!!! On Saturday I had the pleasure of fishing the Drennan All Winners Final at Moorlands Farm Fishery nr Kidderminster, infact I use the term ‘pleasure’ loosely as the fishing can at best be described as ‘patchy’! A few of our lads had stopped down on Friday too fish the evening match, overall it fished reasonably well except one...

Dynamite Delight at White Acres
Dynamite Delight at White Acres

I’ve just returned from my second trip to White Acres and what an eventful one it has been! I was really looking forward to fishing the Dynamite Baits Festival as last year I felt I learnt an awful lot. I was travelling down with Ben Fisk and also had the company of Lee Kerry in our caravan, both brilliant anglers and I was sure we’d do well between us. Also my good mate Andy Geldart was down with...

Lots To Be Learnt At Moorlands!!!!
Lots To Be Learnt At Moorlands!!!!

Well after a frustrating couple of weeks ive finally won a few quid this weekend! On Saturday me and carp fishing machine Jonny Kenning went down to Moorlands Farm nr Kidderminster to fish the winter league there. We decided to have a recce to the venue as we have the Drennan All Winners final coming up on the 3rd of may, and with me going to White Acres for the next week I wont get many more chances...

Like Drowned Rats!
Like Drowned Rats!

Well I hope my run of poor draws comes to an end soon or my White Acres trip in April could be a dull do!!!!! I decided another Woodlands double header was in store, after seeing the terrible forecast I felt sessay was out of the question as at least at Woodlands you can compete on a tip. On the Saturday I drew skylark 10 which I was dead chuffed with as i’ve done well off the peg before, now...

Wonderful Woodlands!
Wonderful Woodlands!

Well after a jam packed winter with team events and one thing and another with lots of travelling, I decided to have a few weeks going to Woodlands at Thirsk, it makes a refreshing change to do my own thing and only have to drive 15mins to get to the venue. It also is the perfect place to get some practice catching the big lads ready for white acres!!!!! First time I went up was on bank holiday Monday...

Bloodworm, Guinness and Batterings!!!!
Bloodworm, Guinness and Batterings!!!!

Well, another weekend has gone by with yet more rain and wind, and to add insult to injury Matt Godfrey gave me a right battering on Sunday, but more of that later. This weekend my Garbolino Ossett team fished the 2-day Sensas Challenge Final held over Barston Lakes and Packington Somers, which I thought were the perfect venues for this match. Our team for the match was myself, Andy Geldart, Mark Wainwright,...

Bits lead to Barston Blues!
Bits lead to Barston Blues!

Well this weekend turned into another frustrating one in the Carass camp!!!! on saturday I travelled to my regular weekend haunt, Lindholme Lakes. After a run of draws on every other lake except Bonsai I was positive i’d get on it this week!!!!! Anyway, the usual Lindhome wind machine was cranked up to full force as per usual and everyone expected Oasis Pool to be a complete blow out so was desperate...

A Good Run!!!!!!!!
A Good Run!!!!!!!!

After an up and down winter league campaign with my team Garbolino Ossett, everybody decided to do there own things for a few months until the next team events came up. After pleasure fishing the River Don at Sprotborough a few times through the summer with my mate Mick Lodge we decided to enter a team into the annual Rotherham Winter League on the venue. The league runs for 6 rounds and is teams of...
